Exosomes are small vesicles that are naturally produced by cells and contain various bio molecules such as proteins, lipids and nucleic acids. They play a role in cell to cell communication and have been found to be powerful in stimulating skin regeneration, hair growth and reducing inflammation in the skin.

At KinDRed Clinic we use the SkinPen microneedling device or Morpheus8 to deliver the exosomes deep into the skin. By using this technique, you get the benefits of medical microneedling with the skin regenerative power of exosomes, in a single treatment.

Please arrive with no make-up if possible. The treatment starts with a skin cleanse and may include the application of numbing cream. SkinPen or Morpheus8 is used to make controlled micro-channels in the skin and then an exosome serum is applied.

After the treatment, your skin may be a little red and feel tight.  You will be given a complimentary biocellulose mask and post-treatment products to optimise results and calm the skin.

The treatment can be used virtually anywhere on the face, neck and body.

A special exosome hair serum is used to stimulate hair re-growth.

Minimal downtime but your skin may be a little red for the first 12 – 24 hours. It can feel a bit like a sunburn. You are advised to avoid makeup and sunscreen for 24 hours.

You can minimise downtime with a post-procedure Dermalux LED session and by using the post-procedure products.

By using exosomes during a SkinPen treatment, you get all the benefits of SkinPen, while also delivering millions of exosomes into the skin.

Our microneedling devices – SkinPen and Morpheus8 are both FDA approved. We use well known E50 or Purasomes exosomes which have been selected due to their safety profile and purity.

After your treatment, you will be emailed with detailed aftercare information so that you can refer to it at any time.

You will be advised to avoid make-up, your own skincare and sunscreen for 24 hours. You should avoid potentially irritating and active skincare ingredients for (eg. retinoids, salicylic acid, vitamin C) for 1 week. Avoid excessive sun exposure for 72 hours. Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours.

Can I have exosome treatment in the summer?

Yes! treatment can be performed at all times of year. Just be aware that you can’t use sunscreen for 24 hours after a treatment and you will need to be extra careful in the sun for 72 hours.

Is there anything I need to do to prepare before exosome treatment?

Please stop all active and irritating skincare ingredients for 72hours before your treatment (eg. retinoids, tretinoin, vitamin C serum, salicylic/glycolic/lactic acid).

Avoid having botulinum toxin and dermal fillers within 2 weeks before treatment.

Avoid sun excessive sun exposure/sunburn for a week before treatment.

Please arrive to your appointment with a clean, make-up free face if possible.

Is there any reason that I shouldn’t have treatment with exosomes?

You should avoid this treatment if you are pregnant/breast feeding, have an active skin infection/ skin cancer/sunburn in the treatment area, have a clotting disorder, taking an oral retinoid (eg.roaccutane, isotretinoin) currently or in the last 6 months or have active severe acne/pustules.

You should not have exosome treatment if you are allergic to fish/beef (depending on the product) or a Vegetarian/Vegan.

It IS safe on all skin tones, Fitzpatrick types I-VI.

Which exosomes products are used at KinDRed?

We have selected Korean E50 exosomes (fish-derived) and Purasomes (bovine colostrum-derived) due to their safety and purity profile. We have a range of different exosome products to target specific concerns from pigmentation, acne, aging and rosacea to hair loss. 

Can exosomes be used by women and men?

This treatment is really popular no matter how you gender-identify.

It can be beneficial in all age groups and all skin types

How many exosome treatments do I need?

If you have young, healthy skin and you simply want to improve texture and skin elasticity, you may find that a single treatment will work well.

However, if you have more significant skin concerns such as deeper static wrinkles, pigmentation, acne scarring or stretch marks, then a course of 3 treatments, 1 month apart is advisable.

How do I maintain my results?

After an initial treatment or course of treatments, you will usually be advised to have a single treatment every 6 months to maintain optimum results.

If you absolutely love SkinPen with exosomes, it is safe to have treatments as frequently as every 4-6 weeks long term.

How much does exosome treatment cost?

The cost of treatment is £400 for SkinPen with exosomes (full face or full scalp)

The cost is £150 for adding to Morpheus8 (face or body)
